Driving Change: SUL PhD Student Ashley Vicary Receives Sloan Grant for Public Transportation Research
MITSUL is proud to announce that first-year PhD student Ashley Vicary has been awarded a MIT Sloan Latin America Research Grant. Ashley's research focuses on analyzing public transportation using bus ridership data in Rio de Janeiro.
During his inaugural semester, Ashley dedicated his efforts to studying this topic, culminating in a year-end paper that served as the basis for his successful application for the MSLAO grant. This achievement is particularly notable for a first-year PhD student and underscores Ashley's commitment to rigorous research and scholarly inquiry.
The grant will provide Ashley with invaluable support as he delves deeper into his research, offering opportunities for fieldwork, data analysis, and collaboration with experts in the field. We congratulate Ashley on this significant accomplishment and look forward to the impactful contributions his research will make to the field of urban studies and planning.
